How to calculate the reduction ratio of planetary gearbox?

Planetary gear reducer is a small volume, wide range of reduction, high precision reduction device, which is often used in mechanical equipment, industrial automation transmission and other applications. In the specific use process, you can choose different reduction ratios to meet the corresponding speed and torque requirements. If you need a lower speed, you can choose a planetary gear reducer with a larger reduction ratio. However, if you want to choose a reducer with a suitable reduction ratio, you need to perform reduction ratio calculations.

Planetary Gear Reducer Calculation

To calculate the gear ratio of a planetary gear reducer, various factors need to be considered, the main influencing factors include transmission ratio, gearbox efficiency, power and speed torque, current, and the relationship between efficiency.

Calculation formula for gear ratio

Formula: n1/n2=i

  1. Definition of calculation method: Gear ratio = input speed ÷ output speed, the ratio of the connected input speed and output speed, such as input speed of 1500r/min and output speed of 25r/min, then its gear ratio is: i=60:1
  2. Gear calculation method: Gear ratio = Number of driven gear teeth ÷ Number of driving gear teeth (If it is a multi-stage gear reduction, then divide the number of driven gear teeth by the number of driving gear teeth for each pair of meshing gears, and then multiply the results obtained).

Calculation formula for transmission ratio

Planetary gearbox: Stage 1: i=(Number of teeth on internal gear/Number of teeth on sun gear)+1

Multilevel: i = i1 * i2 * i3 ...

Calculation formula for gearbox efficiency

Planetary gearbox: level: η=0.9*0.9*(normal ST28P\ST32P\ST36P\ST42P are calculated according to this)

Multistage: η=η1*0.9 where n is the number of stages
